Alan M. Reznik, MD, MBA, FAAOS
Dr. Alan Reznik is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon, innovator, and educator, recognized as one of “America’s Top Physicians” by the Consumers Research Council of America. He has been named “Top Doc” in Connecticut more than 20 times, an honor awarded by his peers, physicians, nurses, and patients. With a deep commitment to advancing orthopedic care, he has served on the editorial boards of AAOS Now and The Journal of Orthopaedic Experience and Innovation and has been an active member of the AAOS Communications Cabinet, Patient Safety Committee, and the Committee on Research and Quality. He has taught residents and medical students at Yale University School of Medicine for over 30 years and more recently added teaching medical students from Quinnipiac University’s Neder School of Medicine.
A prolific author, Dr. Reznik has written extensively on orthopedics, sports injury prevention, AI in medicine, patient safety, and the impact of technology on surgical innovation and leadership. His passion for education extends beyond writing, as he has contributed to numerous patient-friendly resources, including a blog post, podcasts, and educational videos aimed at making complex medical concepts more accessible to everyone.
Beyond orthopedics, Dr. Reznik has returned to his roots in engineering and computer science, focusing on artificial intelligence and its applications in medicine. His expertise in AI has led to a number of published articles covering AI functionality, medical applications, ethical considerations, and liability risks. He holds eight patents, including three on user-directed search enhancements designed to improve search results by restoring independence and serendipity to the discovery process, with a fourth search patent pending.
